Current Effort:
Face Recognition: Investigating the Concept of Fusion-of-Concept. One of the efforts being undertaken at the Imaging, Robotics, and Intelligent Systems Laboratory is towards a paramount goal of face recognition by automatic means employing machine vision. It is believed that the solution to the problem of face recognition could be the fusion of processes operating on multiple image modalities. Also, techniques where the human face is considered a pattern, are recognizing faces considerably well with issues relating to illumination and pose. Support vector machines, kernel methods, to name a few, are some of the techniques that appear to be promising. In thermal imaging, the human face shows peculiar patterns. Would they form patterns, and if so, would there be cognizant correlation in these patterns? Is the fusion of the above facts and disciplines, the answer to the problem of face recognition? The investigations in this direction constitute the present efforts. | ||||||||||||||||||
