Current Work: Surface and Aerospace Surveillance for Harbor Defense and Situational Awareness

Here, work is presented on a system being developed to monitor under bridge traffic concentrated mainly in port areas that are prone to terrorist attacks. One such area is the Port of Port Artur in Texas. The main focus here is real time data acquisition of the under bridge traffic using sensors like range scanners, video cameras and still cameras. The projects also focuses on wireless data transfer of the acquired data to a remote base station for further processing and detection of any potential threats. Currently, a low profile prototype of the data acquisition and data transfer system has been developed and tested successfully on the Henley St. Bridge in Knoxville, TN.
